When he was working on early photoshoots, his shadow would accidentally get in the way. He found it both fascinating and disturbing. He would later purposely use it for shadow self portraits.

Documentation
Portraiture Interim Assessment Your attendance has obviously affected the completion of tasks however, some interesting responses beginning to emerge. Make sure that you are hyper-aware of the composition. Double-check which way up should you hold your camera. For example, some portrait shots are taken with your camera horizontal (landscape) which leaves too much negative space on either side of your subject. Also, take special care when photographing reflective objects or into light to avoid unwanted glare and reflections.
Ben Watts
Ben Watts was born in 19th January 1967 in London who is now based in New York City. His work well known in famous magazines.
One of his project we looked at was the 'Big Up' portraits, a collection of portraits featuring rappers, boxers, skateboarders, and other kinds of people. He started this collection since he moved to New York in 1990. He was fascinated by New York's urban youth culture. He started with personal snapshots that built over the years. He used tape, paint, sharpie, and other mixed media to give the pictures a unique style.
Final Piece
For the final piece I took inspiration from Richard Hamilton's obscured selfies and the work of Arnulf Rainer, who was known for taking pictures of himself and painting over it. I took photos of myself using different expressions and painted different patterns and pictures over it using acrylic paint.
